Out into the world

A production inspired by the New York subway as a space where life stories and people’s destinies meet. The subway as a neutral place that connects us to others and together transports us to another space. Just get on and ride with us one station away.

About the project: the performance is based on a residency in New York, which Czech dancers and choreographers Dora Hoštová and Lenka Bartůňková participated in 2007 as part of a collaboration between Tanec Praha o. s. and the New York Dance Theatre Workshop. The first two parts of the choreography, inspired by the experience of a different culture, were created in the New York metropolis – at the end of the residency this basis for the future choreography was presented at the Judson Church art scene. At the turn of August and September 2008, the project was developed at the Ponec Theatre in collaboration with American artists Alex Escalante and Chase Granoff and performed under the title Into the World (at the Ponec Theatre and at Theatre 29 in Pardubice). The final version of the project – Into the World II was completed with young actors Jakub Tvrdík and Jakub Gottwald.
